The Elko and Northeastern Nevada contribution to the international Basque Diaspora Living Heritage Project.


Memoria Bizia is a long-term international project to collect the oral histories of the Basque history of emigration and exile, focusing on both the emigrants and their descendants in the United States and Canada.

Memoria Bizia is a project directed by Dr. Pedro J. Oiarzabal and funded by the North American Basque Organizations, the Basque Government, the Etxepare Basque Institute, and the University of Deustro. In collaboration with the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada, Reno Libraries.
