GBC Talks: "Religious Liberty in the 21st Century"
<p>To what extent does religious liberty conflict with federal and state laws on a range of issues, or even personal choices? How should such conflicts be resolved, while protecting the Constitution's rights to religious liberty? This GBC Talks discussed the issues behind some of recent controversies and court cases around religious liberty. Recorded Wednesday, 21 February 2018, at Great Basin College.</p>

<p>GBC Talks public panel on "Defining Native Americans: The Blood Quantum Issue," recorded at Great Basin College in Elko, Nevada, on 15 November 2017.</p>

<p>GBC Talks: “Defining Native Americans: The Blood Quantum Issue” discusses what and how “Blood Quantum” is defined, which is a very popular yet highly controversial topic amongst Native Americans. The three presenters each discuss significant factors that impact how blood quantums have transformed over time and now influence membership policies for tribes.</p>

Andy Wilkinson, Talk on "Gift and Play"
<p>Andy Wilkinson, <span>the 33rd National Cowboy Poetry Gathering Keynote Speaker, addressed a Humanities 101 class at Great Basin College about the interactions of gifting and play. Recorded live at Great Basin College on Thursday, 2 February 2017.</span></p>
<p>Andy Wilkinson is a renowned poet, sogwriter, singer and playwright who currently serves as Artist-in-Residence at the Southwest Collection at Texas Tech University and visiting assistant professor in the School of Music.</p>

Johnny B Piano Man - 'Rhythm of the North' Educational Outreach Performance
<p>Musician Johnny B. Piano Man performed selections from his "Rhythm of the North" show at Great Basin College Theater on 2 November 2016 for an audience of students from Elko and Spring Creek High Schools and other members of the community. The performance also included the debut of an original composition entitled "A Place Called Elko."</p>
